I have always dreamt of doing something that brings the design community and everyone around us together to be part of something that will change the world. This endeavor has made me dig deep into what I believe. As John McCollum from Asia’s Hope told me, “If it’s not scary, then your dream is not big enough”. To be a courageous leader means you have to be willing to conquer the fear that comes with doing great things. Well, the last few months have pushed me out of my comfort zone. I am learning to live with what it means to be comfortable in the uncomfortable.

For all who join us as partners to create this home, this will be a chance to lead courageously, build something of eternal significance and create lasting change in the world.

In November, we kicked off our Asia’s Hope house project with a Modern Prohibition party. This all started as a suggestion from a friend to host a guys’ bourbon night.  Well, like most things in my life, I wanted to take it to another level. (Plus, I needed an excuse so women could show up too!) Our goal: raise $150,000, the seed money needed to begin the building phase of the Asia’s Hope Chiang Rai home.

The evening was one of the best nights of my life. I was blown away by the support of our vendors, clients, friends, and even strangers, who all came together to make this evening a success.  Through everyone’s support, we have already raised close to $109,000, so far.
